As the spiritual successor to the BlackBerry Curve 8520 the 9320 has some pretty big shoes to fill. That phone was a bestseller due to ease of use, low price and great social network intergration, not too mention BBM! This made it huge hit amongst the younger generation who always want to be in contact with their friends. The new Blackberry Curve 9320 aims to build on this success while rounding out some of the phones other feature to create a great follow up.

Not the thinnest handset around the Blackberry Curve 9320 nevertheless sports a new fresh design that looks great and thoroughly modern. Like most BlackBerrys front and centre is the full qwerty keyboard that still offers unmatched text entry. A touchscreen keyboard still cannot hope to compete with the speed and accuracy that real physical keys bring. Up above the keyboard is the 2.44 inch LCD display that is both reasonably sharp and colourful. Between the two is an optical track pad, another Blackberry staple, which makes navigating the UI a breeze. Powered by a 806 MHZ processor the phone feels fairly quick and responsive although some some particularly demanding features are out of reach though. For instance web browsing is on the whole a fast and fluid experience the BlackBerry Curve 9320 doesn't play Flash videos or animations. This isn't the problem it once was as though, as many websites offer alternative types of video. You won't miss out on YouTube, for example, which has its own app.

The Blackberry Curve 9320 is powered by an updated version of the BlackBerry software, BlackBerry 7 OS. It's the first version to incorporate touch-screen control although not on the 9320 which unfortunately lacks a touch screen. However, it still looks reassuringly familiar to existing BlackBerry users, with panels organising apps into lists of your favourite apps, apps that you have added yourself, the apps you use the most, and all the apps on the phone. For an even more personal touch, you can download apps. Unfortunately, BlackBerry App World is way behind the rival Android Market and Apple App Store in terms of both numbers and quality of apps

As well as the expected business apps and basic apps such as email, calendar and address book, there's an excellent Facebook app. This grabs your friends' profile pictures into your contacts book so you can easily spot them when you want to get in touch. All the major Facebook features, like friend requests, messages and notifications appear alongside your news feed. Press the Menu button on a photo, link or status update and you're offered various options to like, comment or contact the person who posted it. Facebook events are also pulled into your calendar automatically, and new Facebook messages pop up alongside your new email and texts in a spiffy universal inbox.

Of course you still get all of the great standard blackberry service such as push email and BBM (Blackberry Messenger). The former automatically pushes emails to you phone as soon as their received meaning that you don’t have to constantly check for new emails or sync your mail boxes. The latter is Blackberry’s famous Instant Messaging service that lets you send unlimited instant messages to any Blackberry device. On the Blackberry Curve 9320 it’s even easier to use with a dedicated BBM button that lets you fire off a message quicker than ever. You can now also discover and share music with BBM Music. You can access millions of songs and share them instantly with you BBM friends commenting and liking them together. A built FM radio lets you listen to Music the old fashioned way and radio apps like Tune In Radio or Nobex Radio Companion let chat with you friends whilst listening live. Music just got a whole lot more social on the Blackberry Curve 9320.
