At first glance it may be difficult to spot the difference between the new Apple iPhone 4s and last year’s iPhone 4. In fact they share an almost identical body. Don't be fooled though into thinking that they're same as the new iPhone 4S packs a wealth of new features into its good looking frame. It starts with the new Apple A5 processor. Now dual core, it boasts up to double the performance of its predecessor and up to 7X improvement in graphics. This means that you can play the latest, best looking games in the App Store while enjoying faster speeds throughout the operating system. You still get the same 3.5 inch Retina display that makes text crisper, photos more vibrant and everything more amazing.

The iPhone 4S comes with what is quite possible the best camera ever fitted to a phone. The brand new 8MP iSight camera features a completely new 5 element custom lens, a new backside illuminated sensor with 60% more pixels. This all combines to create richer, more detailed and vibrant photos. A large aperture f/2.4 aperture and larger full well capacity pixels allow the sensor to collect more light improving the low light performance of the camera enormously. You can now also shoot FullHD 1080p video bringing it up to par with its Android rivals.

iOS 5 makes its début on the iPhone 4S and brings many new features and improvements. The headline feature though has to be Siri, the voice activated personal assistant that promises to revolutionise how we use our phones. With Siri users can now interact with their phone in a natural manor. You can ask questions like "Do I need an umbrella" or "when am I meeting Mum" and Siri will not only know what you're saying but also what you mean. It will then respond with the relevant information. You can also use Siri to send messages, place calls, set reminders and much more! Also new is iCloud, Apple's one stop shop for syncing your content between all your Apple devices. Music, Photos, Apps, Contacts, Mail, Calendars and more now all get automatically stored in the cloud and then pushed to all your connected devices. This is all done effortlessly without any user intervention. Your content is now everywhere you want it without even thinking about it.

Other new features making their début in iOS 5 on the Apple iPhone 4S include FaceTime: Free video calling to other iPhone 4S' over WiFi; Airplay: wireless streaming of content to Apple TVs and iMessage: A free messaging service between all connected Apple devices. The phone’s UI has also seen some improvements. A new pull down notification centre is now the home of all notifications that pop up. This functionally very similar to the pull down menu in the Android operating system though it's nice to see it here too. There's also a deeper integration of social networks, in particular Twitter. Users can now send a tweet from nearly anywhere in the interface without the need to launch the Twitter app. Otherwise the Apple iPhone 4S is much the same as its predecessor. You still get the same great looking body, the same great battery life and the same access to Apples market leading Appstore. There are now over half a million apps to choose from!
